Jesus Kicks Ass: then lets his dad sort them out.Jesus Kicks Ass: then lets his dad sort them out.So CNN is reporting today that members of a Christian militia preparing for an assault on the forces of the devil have been arrested in Crazytown, USA. Man, if the Devil comes to Earth he better land in Europe where they will all splash their espressos in his face then instantly burn away into the eternal torment of Hell. But here we have guns and guys with grenades to stop the supernatural forces of the Devil.

    Um. Yeah.

So the Pope is attacking the media for letting a child molester off the hook, and I think I heard something about one of his buddies ordering African boys to help him relax. Oh man, good times in the world of massive group superstition.

  • More Squandered Moral Authority from the Church

You think those nails hurt?: How you feelin' about your gang now Jesus? You think those nails hurt?: How you feelin' about your gang now Jesus? So the men who are the closest to God, the priests and clergy of the Catholic Church seem to have no fear of the rules of their faith. They seem to be free of concern for the Hellfires that might await, say, an atheist. So touching little boys and ruining their lives seems to be a notch or two below being an atheist. I know, I know, the Catholics of the world will say that the acts of these perverts, who seem to permeate the clergy, don't reflect on the pure ideals of the church. Perhaps not, and perhaps all men are fallible, and perhaps God, is indeed a forgiving god who can forgive pedophilia, but not Atheism.

God: the uncreated creator of creation, including misleading things like fossils, history and scientists.God: the uncreated creator of creation, including misleading things like fossils, history and scientists. So, according to a recent articl in the New York Times, HERE, a researcher in Siberia discovered a small finger bone. In that small bone were traces of mitochondrial DNA, which were tested and indicate the bone belonged to what may be an entirely new branch of the human family tree. So here's my point: whether this guy is wrong or right about his discovery, he was in a cave in Siberia looking for evidence of the human family tree. What is the church doing right now? Trying to get the Pope disconnected from MORE gay pedophiles. And if they weren't doing that they'd be in the pews mumbling quietly to the man in the sky, essentially, being idle.

  • Logic vs. Mysticism on Nightline Tonight

End of Faith: by Sam HarrisEnd of Faith: by Sam HarrisTonight on CBS's show Nightline, there will be a debate between four people. Two men, Michael Shermer and Sam Harris, who will use information from the history of the world, multiple scientific disciplines, evidence and other knowledge accumulated throughout the entire existence of man to make their point. Two other people, Deepak Chopra and Jean Houston, will cite the same old book as 'evidence'. It should be a one-sided affair with a knowledge of the world on one side and the confined and narrow perspective of an ancient collection of manmade stories. On one side you will hear logic and evidence and thoughtfulness. On the other you will hear anecdotes, stories and wishful thinking. No evidence. Just more emotional regurgitation and hope that we will see grandma when we die.

  • Town's Ban on Home Bible Study Has Many Outraged

Imagine living in a town where the government, not you, decides what you can and not do in your own home and chooses to ban Bible studies in the home. What kind of society could possibly dictate to others what they can study or whom they can fellowship with in their own homes? It makes you glad that you live in a nation that values and guarantees the Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, and the Right of Privacy, right? The problem is that this did not occur in some backwoods dictatorship half way across the globe, but right here in the good ol' US of A.

USA for AfricaUSA for AfricaIn the first part of 'A Response to “We Are the World: The Spirit of the World”- On the Mark or Way off Key?' I brought to light a misguided criticism from the Later Days Minsitry blog regarding their attack on the song “We Are the World” and the argument that there is nothing positive from the secular world. There sheer volume of problems I found with this post warranted a continuation of this reponse.

USA for AfricaUSA for AfricaRecently, a group of “musicians” (and I use that term very loosely) committed audio sacrilege with a remake of “We Are the World” that is no doubt making Michael Jackson turn over in his grave. Now, the very spirit of the song itself is coming under attack. Even more ironic is that the song, which calls us to the love and charity that God asks of us, has come under fire by a christian blog. Being one of the last die hards from the “We Can Change the World” camps of the 80's, I felt a detailed response was in order.

  • Assault on Faith and Women: Campus Group Exchanges Pornography for Bibles in Smut Campaign

FaithFaithWhile religion has been hotly debated among various groups in the United States over the past couple of decades, one group has taken things way too far on a college campus in Texas where their latest stunt has far surpassed a matter of intelligent debate, crossing the line into obscenity and exploitation by conducting a swap program distributing pornography in exchange for Bibles or any other religious text in their all out assault on faith in this nation.
