Joseph Smith: LDS founder.The Mormon Church was founded when a man with a rock in his hat was allegedly guided to two gold slabs bearing the stories of lost Biblical characters and their lives in the pre-Colombus Americas. The slabs were naturally reclaimed by the angel Moroni, so that evidence is gone. The "seer stone" used by the church's founder, Joseph Smith, is itself an item of black magic, which is a christian no-no.

Pope BenedictIt is widely reported today that the Vatican said, while on his trip to Malta, a tearful Pope Benedict XVI, in a closed-door meeting, met in the chapel at the Vatican's embassy for about about 35 minutes, total, with eight Maltese men, who were abused by four priests when they were boys living at a Catholic orphanage. The Vatican PR statement said that during the meeting the Pope expressed his "shame and sorrow" at the pain the men and their families suffered, and -- yes with those tears in his eyes,

WWJD: They're doing what? I never said to do that!I had the pleasure of dinner with another couple the other night. We ate at this Italian place that everybody loves, but I kind of find it to be a canned sauce type of place, but whatever. The other couple are young professionals, successful tech marketing people. All was going well until her boyfriend broached the subject of pedophile priests with a snarky comment. She let it go. But I piled on with another comment, lost to the garlic tinged wind. This was apparently too much for the Irish Catholic girl sitting across from me.

The BeatlesBoth Ringo Starr and the Vatican have spoken- decades after the Vatican informed the world that the Beatles’ message was “satanic” rather than peaceful or non-political, the Vatican’s newspaper has now forgiven the Beatles and Ringo Starr is not impressed.

L’Osservatore Romano. the Vatican’s newspaper recently said that,

It’s true, they took drugs; swept up by their success, they lived dissolute and uninhibited lives But, listening to their songs, all of this seems distant and meaningless. Their beautiful melodies, which changed forever pop music and still give us emotions, live on like precious jewels.
