Trump let's free speech live, and Miss California to keep her crown
Donald Trump waves his hand, and it was good.Big wig Donald Trump (pun very much intended) announced today that he will allow Miss California Carrie Prejean, who cited her Christian faith as her reason for standing up against gay marriage, to keep her title in the wake of her Bible based hate speech. Trump cited 'the 21st century' and acknowledged Miss Prejean's career as a model as his reasons for allowing her to keep the title in lieu of several nude pictures of her that have come to light since she lied about taking them to slip into the Miss CA crown.
You know, no matter how much it seems like out and out bigotry, justified only by words in a book written by Middle Eastern tribesmen 2000-1500 years ago, that Prejean and many others insist is the beginning and end of morality and is in fact more important than the very real love that gays feel for each other, I still agree with Trump. This is the United States where our freedoms of speech are protected. Gay blogger Perez Hilton has the right to get his panties publicly bunched and Prejean has the right to express her biblical beliefs, fair trade. The outcome was entirely correct. Prejean spoke truthfully and in a bigoted manner and lost the Miss USA title. There you go, fair again.
The actual truth is that gay marriage does nothing to demean "traditional" marriage. It does nothing to the marriages of those already married and it does nothing to the country. Why people are so afraid of gay marriage is beyond me, who cares? If your church is so against it, then your church should not marry gay people. But to deny love at a deathbed or hospital is sinful, in my eyes. To tell two people who just want to promise themselves to each other and live their lives that they can't do that is shameful for those that stand in the way of love. And all this from a girl who inserted silicon balloons into her chest to gain fame in a beauty pageant, wow. She is revelling in beauty that cost $5,000, its not even her "God given" looks that people are praising. But hey, that's her freedom to revel in. The gays, however, not so much freedom.
