I have had many people over the years ask me how I know God exists. That is a difficult question to answer, yet actually quite simple. I know God exists because I have a personal relationship with Him. I feel Him. I talk to Him. I know He is there. No question about it
If you believe in God, and have a personal relationship with Him, you can understand how I feel. It is not something that is easy to explain; but then again, does the concept of faith really make sense in our world? I grew up in a Christian home, and have always considered myself a Christian. Yes, there were times in my life where I strayed from God, but I’ve always come back. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.” I believe that my parents clung to this verse as they were raising my two brothers, my sister and me.
One common way I respond to people when they ask me this question is quite simple. I begin explaining a process or topic, such as the complexity of the human body, or the process of pollination. There is no way either of these two subjects could have “just happened.” It took a creator that is perfect to create them. And to think, God created everything with just a few words.
Next time someone asks you about this, don’t argue. Simply begin explaining something very complex, and ask them if it is possible that this just happened by chance.
