Kirk Cameron is an academic terrorist

I cannot stand this clown. He is the peak of ignorance. Kirk Cameron, professor of biology from the Universi… oh, wait,  sorry, 80s child actor, plans to distribute a vandalized version of Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species. This version is punctuated with ignorant religious commentary where it has no business being. Cameron has been publicly shamed before on TV and his photoshopped image of a ‘Crocoduck’ was the laughing stock of semi-educated people everywhere. Crocoduck: proof of the failure of our educational system.Crocoduck: proof of the failure of our educational system.

The very concept of the ‘crocoduck’ exemplifies the ignorance of the Creationist argument. Cameron holds up a picture of a duck with a crocodile head then asks “Have you ever seen one of these?” Well, no. I used to have this kids game where you could trace the front end and back end of various animals together, but I was in kindergarten and lost interest in silly kids games. The problem with his crocoduck is it displays no knowledge of taxonomy or evolution. It’s just the result of an ignorant Christian and his Bible trying to play ball with the big boys.

Science by nature is complicated and if everyone understood it, we wouldn’t need schools where hard-earned and field accepted knowledge is constantly refined, tested and taught. These guys never take issue with math or chemistry, but because evolution assumes we came from what many religions classify as a ‘lower’ animal it cannot be right. The Bible has no connection to any academic study, system or ideal, it was just desert nomads trying to use their stories to explain everything. What do they say about microbes? Nothing? Wow, big surprise. What about viruses? Nothing again? Wow, big surprise. A flat Earth? Wrong. An Earth-centric universe? Wrong again faithful.

Now Cameron (and hundreds of other God-warriors) are bringing this ancient storybook to science class. It is dangerous and terrible. It's like me arguing against the Theory of Relativity with a rocket scientist based on the film Back to the Future. I have tried not to blog about this sort of thing but when your mind is free to consult ALL the information you begin to really see how narrow and silly the religious talk is. And all you kindly on-the-fence types need to understand that denying science is on par with book burning and other massively ignorant acts. If you want to disprove evolution, go for it, there is a whole field of scientists waiting for you to come up with irrefutable evidence, until then “God did it” is not going to suffice in light of billions of pieces of evidence to the contrary. And an 80s TV star is certainly not the messiah of knowledge. Everything is in flux, i.e., evolving, the planet, stars, life, oceans, EVERYTHING. To argue otherwise is simply stagnant garbage.

When you argue against Evolution you argue against every scientist who ever contributed to the scientific record in any field, ever, wrong or right. You argue against the great Greek scientists and philosophers, the Arab and Maya astronomers, the great biologists like Pasteur, Salk and against logic. It is to deny the 'evolution' of human knowledge, which has been progressing for thousands of years. Cameron is an academic terrorist.

umm, i guess you didn't hear

umm, i guess you didn't hear but the Kirk Cameron pamphlets were definitely jokes meant to point out the ridiculousness of creationist arguments. Maybe you should slow your roll before your indignation hurts your brain.

Whatever Kirk. No takebacks!

no they werent. cameron is a

no they werent. cameron is a creationist and his arguments are absurd. cameron presented the picture of the crocoduck at a thiest vs athiest debate as lack of evidence against evolution, just like it says in the article.
