More Squandered Moral Authority from the Church

You think those nails hurt?: How you feelin' about your gang now Jesus?So the men who are the closest to God, the priests and clergy of the Catholic Church seem to have no fear of the rules of their faith. They seem to be free of concern for the Hellfires that might await, say, an atheist. So touching little boys and ruining their lives seems to be a notch or two below being an atheist. I know, I know, the Catholics of the world will say that the acts of these perverts, who seem to permeate the clergy, don't reflect on the pure ideals of the church. Perhaps not, and perhaps all men are fallible, and perhaps God, is indeed a forgiving god who can forgive pedophilia, but not Atheism. But if the very people who are setting the morality and supposedly acting on behalf of God can't keep from committing the worst of sins, then why should anyone on Earth listen to this organization of anti-nature pedos.

Beyond that, if these guys seem to have no fear of Hell or God's wrath, perhaps they know something the rest of us should. Maybe they know there is no God. Maybe they get into some little room in the Vatican and the Pope gathers them all real close and whispers to them, "Do whatever you want, there is no God. It's a free-for-all and just make sure the money keeps coming in."

I have never seen morality as some God-given gift to mankind, like most God-heads. I have seen it as an individual's understanding of human pain and suffering weighed against their actions. But apparently before God gave the Ten Commandments, we were all like murder driven zombies with raging erections and no fear of punishment, then God showed up and gave Moses the rules and we all settled down.

So bring the excuses, God is forgiving, man is fallible, these individuals are sinners, led away by the Devil, they're not all like that... But I'm pretty comfy, in my little un-warped atheist mind, thinking they are repressing one of man's greatest urges and it is going to squeeze out where it can. And as long as this AMORAL ORGANIZATION continues to transfer these fucking perverted criminals from parish to parish rather than prosecute them, the church will continue to be a bastion of perverts. ANd Ratzinger and the rest of his ilk should forfeit all moral authority, and get in a spaceship and leave this planet for good. But please leave all the gold at the Vatican, we'll distribute it to the poor.

The other side of this is HERE. I'm an atheist and I am routinely told I cannot even know morality. Well, I'm pretty sure I do, and I know that hundreds of Catholic priests are highly immoral. So take your religious confidence of moral superiority and shove it, up your OWN ASS, this time please. The religious leaders of the Catholic Church  have forfeited it for you.
