Pope Begs for Forgiveness
Today, in Rome at a Mass, Pope Benedict XVI of the Roman Catholic Church again publicly apologized for the widespread sex abuse scandal, and begged for forgiveness. His victims are saying that these acts of begging are not enough. He does promise to do everything possible to assure that such abuse will never happen again. See the video.
Well, this pope should be begging forgiveness. He should be in a monastery somewhere begging his victims and fellow church members for forgiveness. These stage acts of begging for forgiveness seem to be just that, a show. If he really wants to make a difference, he would clean house of everyone involved in the abuse and the cover up, starting with himself. Somehow, I get the impression that this pope and the CEO of BP oil are reading from the same playbook on damage control -- talk, say that the problem is understood and that progress is being made on a fix, and do nothing to fix the problem.
