In the news, visitors and the owners /staff of a religious lending library in Reading, Ohio, say that a small statue of the Virgin Mary is weeping, crying tears. According to news reports, believers and non believers say they have seen the stature crying.
Well, I am skeptical. Why? Because skepticism follow rumors of miraculous events. And because reporters with cameras are forbidden to record the event. There is speculation that the tears are just a trick of light. The tear could be from who knows what? A leaking roof?
A reporter for the local station says that she saw a teardrop on the statue's cheek and another on the statue's chin. How could the reporter be sure what she witnessed is a tear? Well?
How could anyone be sure? Could the tears just be water? Well?
Well, folks are flocking to the shop to take a peek for themselves. People see what they want to see, and believe what they want to believe.
