The verse found in Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” This really sums up well what Christianity is really all about.
If you have ever been in a discussion with a non-believer, you may have encountered the subject of faith and whether or not Christianity is really real. This tends to be a conversation that is common amongst non-believers. While it can be hard for a non-believer to understand what faith is all about, it is actually quite easy for a believer.
For me, I have believed in this faith for my entire life. This does not mean that I have always walked closely with God and what He expects of me, but I have always believed. I have this faith that is described in Hebrews. It is a faith that good things are coming, and that God is real even though I cannot see Him. How do I know? I just do. If you are a believer, it is not something that you can really describe. It is more like a lifetime of believing and seeing the things that happen in life.
When I pray for something and it happens, I know that God is in control of it. I know that I don’t deserve it, yet God often gives me the things I ask for. He may not give me all I want, but He always gives me all I need. A lifetime of this belief makes it easy to believe that Hebrews 11:1 is true.
